POOR ECONOMY CAUSES NEW BEGINNINGS
No one enjoys the idea of no employment, foreclosure, money concerns, increased family problems, and other “economy related” concerns. The Phoenix “rises” from the ashes. There may actually be a rainbow at the end of this dark recessional storm.
I remember when the “poor economy” news began and the employment layoffs began. The employees fortunate to have a job received reduced hours. I remember the anxieties and concerns. I then began to see individuals adjust to the crisis. They enjoyed more family time, spiritual growth, “away” time, and other pursuits. This isn’t to minimize the seriousness of the crisis. Yet, we must adjust to the “way it is” and “let go” of the “way it was”.
Imagine an “older” person seeking employment at a fast food restaurant. This person may have enjoyed an annual salary. Recession “woes” have changed this person’s entire life.
Let’s examine some of the “many” ways financial woes can motivate us:
1) Bad Credit Ratings- Possibly a person never experienced bad credit until this recession. We can blame whoever, but the situation will still exist. Corporations have learned to use situations to “restructure” themselves. Individuals must have the same mind frame. It’s not a time to whine concerning woes. It’s a time to change, restructure, and encourage new growth.
When one door closes another opens. There may other creditors willing to assist. If this is not a wise course, you would have to learn how to “re start” with out credit. This might call for great sacrifices. A mental, emotional, financial, and possibly spiritual change would be necessary.
2) Failing Relationships-It’s going to happen. There are people that go when the money is low. The philosophy is we can not stop what wishes to move forward. When this is the case, we must strengthen our position(s).
3) Seeking Capable Guides-There are those trained to assist during financial concerns. It would be wisdom on our part to seek out such ones. Many professionals offer payment arrangements.
4) Loosing a place to stay and/or possessions-We have to accept that these things are a reality. The good news is that every “thing” we lose actually lowers our financial expenditures. This makes it easier for us to find lower paying employment. “Low pay” is something that’s not desirable. We have to be realistic. Today’s economy has greatly affected the job markets and wages.
5) Utilizing Employment Agencies-As long as the agency is reputable and capable, this might be a very wise choice. An agency can probably secure higher wages than many “walk-ins” offer.
6) Transportation-City dwellers generally don’t need personal transportation. Many persons may feel that it’s time to leave the cities. Many of my neighbors have returned down south. The key to combating this recession is to be your own best business possession. This means that you are ready to start working immediately. Do not leave it up to anyone else to secure your employment. Agencies can only do so much.
7) Strengthen your job seeking skills-I have an article on this subject. Feel free to research that article. You can also research online. Imagine that there will be 100 people to every job interview attended. What is going to “place you above” those other 99?
Toughen Up- Years ago we left our parents and eventually secured our “own”. Now a day, it seems that there is a strong attempt to keep everyone financially broke. It’s unwise to request credit where credit is not really needed. Forget about the “Jones”. Most “Jones” are also financially struggling. If “old” works, then we might leave the “new” until later. Most children just want a “home of love”. The mistake of having everything “modern (and technical)” has greatly increased debt.
9) Personally Improving Yourself-Many of the “old timers” can remember their teenage years and their first car. They remember the “awe” and everyone talking about them. They remember the feeling of “maturity” and freedom. Ironically the financial recession has brought many “old timers” back to that period. It’s no longer about possessions, technology, great foods, and great places. It has more so become about being “thank-full” with life’s necessities. Many of the “proud and isolated” are learning to seek assistance.
This is a great time to start a diet and exercise regiment. Many of us have spent years helping ourselves, friends, family, and others.
The recession has been a Great Teacher. It has taught us the importance of always being our best business possession. Our looks, resources, and “lot-in-life” must be “up to par” if we are to progress through this major financial “set back (recession)”.
