Question by seemorebetter: Christians, Jesus in his prophesy of the Great Tribulation leading up to Armageddon?
(Matthew 24:21-22) for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.
(Matthew 24:42) 42 Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming.

How long do You think this Period of Time will Last….As he says it would have to be cut short on account of the Chosen ones (Those who will start the New System With Jesus as Ruler) ?

In keeping on the Watch ( As commanded) …Also In the News……..Gerald Celente of TrendsResearch.com “This is the beginning of the greatest depression. We’re telling our readers to take pro-active measures in anticipation of much worse to come,” he said.

USA Today says Celente “has a knack for getting the zeitgeist right,” and CNBC says, “The man knows what he’s talking about.”

The Wall Street Journal has said, “Those who take their predictions seriously consider the Trends Research Institute.”

He said during the Radio America/WND interview that retail sales this coming Christmas season will be the “real nail in the economic coffin.”

Best answer:

Answer by An Earthly Hope
We can see how close the GT is. This immoral world is taking over. One thing we must remember is that Jehovah is the one that will put into the hearts of the government to attack false religion. This is what starts the GT. His followers will be protected.
And yes, once false religion is attacked, the merchants will suffer greatly around xmas holidays. They will look at the harlot laying on the ground and shake their heads in shame. But they know better than to get close to her.

By Sarah Smith: US presidential hopefuls are pledging cash for a clean energy boom and hope to change the nation’s economy and the global environment. Channel 4 News is in Roscoe, Texas where a new clean energy boom is providing hard up farmers with a real windfall. He’s not predicting a recession yet but America’s most powerful economist, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, admits the country’s GDP won’t grow at all during the first half of the year. And the one area of the US economy showing huge potential is environmentally friendly technologies. With the price of oil soaring ever higher, Americans are finally looking into alternative fuels. So ironically, bad times for the US economy could be good for tackling global warming. But issues like global warming don’t drive the political debate here. Candidates talk more about green jobs than global warming. The US is a commercial country – if politicians talk dollars and cents, then voters will embrace renewable technology.

Question by grandma zaza: Was the Clinton Administration a complete disaster for the USA?
It has been 10 years since the U.S. Congress and President Bill Clinton paved the way for China to enter the World Trade Organization (WTO). Most all of the predictions from those pushing the deal at the time have proven to be wrong, according to an analysis done by Robert Lighthizer, former deputy United States Trade Representative during the Reagan administration and head of the international trade department of the Washington firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & From LLP.

Bill Clinton, the country’s most ardent booster of opening trade with China, looks especially imprudent 10 years later. During a press conference on March 29, 2000, Clinton said that granting China permanent normal trade relations (PNTR), which allowed China to gain entry into the WTO, would be a great deal for America. “We do nothing,” Clinton said. “They have to lower tariffs. They open up telecommunications for investment. They allow us to sell cars made in America in China at much lower tariffs. They allow us to put our own distributorships there. They allow us to put our own parts there. We don’t have to transfer technology or do joint manufacturing in China any more. This a hundred-to-nothing deal for America when it comes to the economic consequences.”

It didn’t quite work out that way. Since 2000, the trade deficit with China has surged by 173 percent, from $ 83 billion in 2000 to $ 227 billion in 2009. The United States has lost more than one-third of all its manufacturing jobs — 5.6 million; U.S. wages have declined; the country has suffered a financial meltdown; it has spent $ 14 trillion on economic stimulus, only to experience the highest unemployment rates in generations and annual federal budget deficits of more than $ 1 trillion. These trends are not “likely to end,” says Lighthizer.

Best answer:

Answer by Squirreltakeover
i think the issue was that it provided the boom to the economy when trade was handled correctly, and then when it wasnt, it caused a financial decline.

and the us losing 1/3rd of its manufacturing jobs was because people were moving onto higher paying more skilled labor jobs.

Question by Honest Rob: Why do we see this trend continue with Obama doing one thing and his spokesman saying another?
You wouldn’t think they are trying to intentionally fool us would you?

Obama greeted Chavez and shook his hand 3 different times. He then had a dialog with him with translators.

Although the White House said Chavez was civil in his remarks about the USA, Obama’s economic adviser, Larry Summers, later told reporters “Relationships depend on more than smiles and handshakes.”

Now we are suppose to believe the two doesn’t have a relationship and it was all for show? Is this to confuse the American people or to confuse the other countries that Obama likes them better than he does?

This defiantly is a trend… Obama does one thing and his spokesmen say another.

I’m almost certain that if Obama went to a men’s room and stood before a urinal his spokesman would be saying that while it looked like he was urinating, he was actually taking a cell phone call in the privacy of the men’s room.
=======
California doesn’t have the best milk. They don’t have contented cows, so it’s not surprise.

Best answer:

Answer by Texas, we don’t want you!
I’m not sure how long you have been following politics but it has always worked this way.

Flow of imports drags down economic growth
Thursday, August 26, 2010
“A widening U.S. trade deficit has become a substantial drag on economic growth as the country’s exports struggle to keep pace with the swelling sums that Americans are again spending on imported goods.

“The rise in the trade deficit, including an abrupt 16 percent spike in June, is a chief reason economists are downgrading estimates for recent U.S. economic growth.

“Officials at Cummins Inc., the Indiana-based engine and power-system maker, say business is booming in such places as China and India, but the new orders for its equipment are largely being met at the firm’s factories outside the United States.

“Almost everything we sell in China is made in China, and those factories are at capacity right now,” spokesman Mark Land said. “The strength in those markets helps us overall, but our manufacturing capacity creates a limited need to export.”
“Corporate profits are up. Stock prices are up. So why isn’t anyone hiring?

“Actually, many American companies are — just maybe not in your town. They’re hiring overseas, where sales are surging and the pipeline of orders is fat.

“More than half of the 15,000 people that Caterpillar Inc. has hired this year were outside the U.S. UPS is also hiring at a faster clip overseas. For both companies, sales in international markets are growing at least twice as fast as domestically.

“The trend helps explain why unemployment remains high in the United States, edging up to 9.8 percent last month, even though companies are performing well: All but 4 percent of the top 500 U.S. corporations reported profits this year, and the stock market is close to its highest point since the 2008 financial meltdown.

“But the jobs are going elsewhere. The Economic Policy Institute, a Washington think tank, says American companies have created 1.4 million jobs overseas this year, compared with less than 1 million in the U.S. The additional 1.4 million jobs would have lowered the U.S. unemployment rate to 8.9 percent, says Robert Scott, the institute’s senior international economist.

“There’s a huge difference between what is good for American companies versus what is good for the American economy,” says Scott.”

Business is booming all over the world, except the USA. Jobs are being created, but not in the USA.

Even U.S. companies created more jobs outside the USA than at home.

The Democrats have been in total control for two years – why is this still happening?

They can’t blame Bush anymore (and certainly not Reagan….).

Best answer:

Answer by Dave87gn
corporations are hiring overseas because those countries have no health or safety standards, and no minimum wage requirements

basically its a race to the bottom

Question by Foster Stanwick: china downgrades USA DEBT and gives stern warning, is it time to pressure your pathetic leadership / FED?
“The serious defects in the United States economic development and management model will lead to the long-term recession of its national economy, fundamentally lowering the national solvency. The new round of quantitative easing monetary policy adopted by the Federal Reserve has brought about an obvious trend of depreciation of the U.S. dollar,
and the continuation and deepening of credit crisis in the U.S. Such a move entirely encroaches on the interests of the creditors, indicating the decline of the U.S. government’s intention of debt repayment. Analysis shows that the crisis confronting the U.S. cannot be ultimately resolved through currency depreciation. On the contrary, it is likely that an overall crisis might be triggered by the U.S. government’s policy to continuously depreciate the U.S. dollar against the will of creditors.”

Best answer:

Answer by Duke Powerhand
Years ago, candidates used to run on the slogan ‘a strong dollar’, funny you don’t hear that anymore.

Question by Jordan C: My american government current event?
WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (CNN) — For Doug Pegram, it is on the one hand simple math: His medical bills cost roughly $ 300 a month and a health insurance policy would cost $ 550.

“Two or three hundred dollars goes a long way,” Pegram said. Especially when you are living on unemployment benefits.

Simple math, and a huge gamble: Pegram has a rare disorder, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, that in some patients can be life-threatening.

“If anything happens, that’s another story,” Pegram told us. “But you have to do what you have to do sometimes, and you just hope for the best. And do it.” Video Watch Pegram describe his tough choices »

Life on the edge started in November, when Pegram lost his job at Hanesbrands Inc., the clothing manufacturer where he had worked for three years. Ironically, Pegram’s job as a senior analyst included writing reports for Hanes management on sales and economic trends.

“Every couple months, it [layoffs] went through the company and a few people here and there and it got worse and worse,” he said. “I knew it was in the future somewhere.”

Now, he is looking for a job and keeping his fingers crossed his condition doesn’t worsen. Ehlers-Danlos is a group of inherited disorders that affect connective tissues. In Pegram’s case, it means constant pain in his legs and some other joints.

“One type is you can have heart failure if you don’t get checked out, so it’s pretty serious that you actually go to the doctor,” Pegram said.

His monthly visit costs $ 150 — and patients like Pegram who are without insurance are asked to pay up front. His medications run about $ 126 at a discount pharmacy. Pegram has old bills showing that when he was at Hanes and insured, the same medication cost the insurance company $ 68 because of its discount. His doctor also accepted a lower negotiated rate from the insurer.

“So everything is inflated,” he said of his medical costs now.
* Fence represents divide over illegal immigration
* Indiana mayor says he’d put stimulus money to good use
* Lansing struggles with restructured GM

He could have signed up for the COBRA health coverage available to workers as they lose their jobs. It was that policy Pegram said would have cost him $ 550 or “almost half of what you get every month” in jobless benefits and leave him “not able to pay for a place to live, and food, and all that.” Video Watch President Obama’s summit on health care »

In an interview at his condo, we asked Pegram: “Should you be doing more? If you had insurance, would you be doing more, seeing more doctors?”

“Yes, I would be.”

“And what’s the risk of not doing that?”

“I could go downhill quicker. It’s a debilitating condition, so eventually I could, I don’t know.”

Yet he is remarkably upbeat about his health and about the prospects of finding a job before his benefits run out in a few months.

“I think I will find something before then,” Pegram said, while conceding he might be forced soon to lower his sights and look for work that pays less than his Hanes position as long as it provides health care coverage.

The jobless rate in the Winston-Salem metropolitan area was 7.6 percent in December 2008, up from 4.4 percent one year earlier. With the higher unemployment comes increases in the number of residents without health insurance.

Dr. Bruce Wham has been a practicing dentist for 26 years and an amateur economist for the past year or so.

“Most people feel like it is going to get worse before it gets better,” Wham said when we visited his practice. “Talking to patients, talking about automobile purchases, any kind of renovations of houses, even education — sending their kids to college, there is a lot of concern about purchasing those things or how they are going to do those things and dentistry is sometimes considered more of a luxury than a necessity and we get pushed to the back lot.”

One way Wham can tell if a longtime patient is about to lose his or her job is if they suddenly schedule treatments and repairs they had been putting off. It is a sign they are about to lose their insurance coverage.

“Especially if there is something that they need to get done or have been ‘treatment-planned’ for and they have been told by the dentist, the hygienist, to replace this, yes, they are more likely to want to come in and get that done as soon as they can,” Wham said.

The flip side: A patient who needs major work who instead endures the pain, or asks Wham if there is a cheaper, though perhaps temporary, solution.

“If there is anything that can be delayed or pushed back, that is what they are doing. They are asking us, ‘Is there any way that we can hold off? Is there anything less involved, less costly until I get my job, until I know my insurance is going to be back?’ in effect.

“And so we do a lot of that, not necessarily temporary restorations, but things that might not last
why does this pertain to government? what are the major points? and why do we care? and whats ur thought provoking question about this article?

Question by Victor B: Quality of Life Search Engine for Real Estate is it accurate?
Can anyone tell me if the “Quality of Life” Search Engine at http://www.fsuzion.com really works. You are able to enter in any property address in the USA and it gives you scores about the property and neighborhood, from real estate values to economic trends of local businesses and the Feng Shui of the property. Its quite easy and free to use, there is also a talking avatar on the site you can chat with and ask questions about Feng Shui.

Best answer:

Answer by alterfemego
I just checked it out on my own home. While the information appears accurate, it is still pretty generic. You also have to keep in mind, that these search engines to not compare like products and what you are getting in values could be older information and an overall value for the area within 1 mile. Which can differ greatly from neighborhood to neighborhood. So while it does provide you some information, it’s best not to rely solely on it.

Niagara Falls, NY (PRWEB) April 2, 2007

More than 4.5 million travelers spent approximately $ 400 million in Niagara County in 2005, the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation (NTCC) announced today. Overall, the amount of revenue added to the local economy because of tourism likely exceeded $ 600 million in 2005.

NTCC President & CEO John Percy said that two independent analysis–one conducted by Oxford Economics and one conducted by the organization’s strategic communications firm–came to similar conclusions regarding visitation trends and spending. The data is augmented by information from the State of New York and Smith Travel Research.

In 2005, travelers spent between $ 386 million and $ 401 million in Niagara County. Spending estimates include lodging expenditures, food and beverage, retail and transportation. Hotel revenues, which account for between 14 and 19 percent of overall spending, increased 7.4 percent from 2004 to 2005, according to Smith Travel Research reports.

Tourism spending increased by 23.8 percent from 1991-2005, according to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

There were 4.5 million overall visitors to Niagara USA in 2006, with 1.5 million visitors staying overnight in Niagara USA. Percy stressed that these were highly conservative estimates, and that the number is likely higher. NTCC is relying on lower estimates because of the difficulty of counting day-travelers to a border destination.

“Of course, the NTCC cannot take credit for all tourism to Niagara USA,” Percy said. “Everyone in our region–not to mention the Falls themselves–plays a significant role in attracting visitors to our destination. But we are proud of the increases we’ve seen in tourism revenues and we are optimistic about future growth.”

When it comes to employment, Oxford Economics estimates that 7,917 jobs in Niagara County are directly related to tourism, generating $ 221 million in tourism income. Of all counties in the five-county Niagara region (Erie, Genessee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming), Niagara County depends most on tourism for jobs. Nine percent of all jobs in Niagara County are related to tourism.

Niagara County tourism also contributes to the local and state tax base. According to Oxford Economics, Niagara County tourism generated $ 25,869,383 in local taxes and $ 19,917,371 in state taxes in 2005.

Percy presented the research at the organization’s Stakeholder’s Report Meeting on Friday, March 30. Percy also unveiled NTCC’s aggressive marketing plan for 2007, which calls for enhancements to Visitor Centers, increased outreach to the convention and group tour markets, a comprehensive advertising campaign to attract travelers from several targeted geographic areas and a media relations effort.
